2019 review


As we start 2020, I like to spend time reviewing 2019. I love looking through the pictures from this year’s YogaBeez teacher trainings, workshops, shows, conferences, classes and retreats. I feel so blessed to have been able to spend time in the company of all these amazing teachers, parents, yogis and children. Together we shared and practiced our mutual love of yoga, mindfulness, mental and physical wellbeing. I love to see how this community of teachers continues to support each other as we work together to bring yoga to as many children, young people, schools and families as we can.

New Children’s Yoga Foundation


This year also saw the launch of our new Children’s Yoga Foundation at the annual Instill conference – bringing together teachers and experts in the field of children’s yoga and mindfulness.

Our big mission this year is to start accumulating research and statistics on the impact of yoga in schools.

The YogaBeez children’s area at this years Om Yoga show was also a great success. So wonderful to share yoga with so many children and families and also to chat to so many visitors interested in sharing yoga with children.

Bringing yoga to schools


Classes around the globe continue to thrive as schools recognise more and more the benefits that yoga and mindfulness tools and techniques are bringing to not only their children but also their families and their own teaching staff. Each week we receive more emails from schools looking for INSET day trainings for their staff, healthy living workshops for their students, requests for afterschool clubs, breakfast clubs, yoga in school curriculum. The more our world speeds up the more we are realising the necessity to give our children tools to cope and yoga and mindfulness are in great demand.

It’s not just the children and teens that need to relax, us adults also need some time out from the busyness! If you’re looking for a retreat for yourself come and join us in the gorgeous Kent countryside.

It requires minimal wrapping and fits neatly under the tree!

Summon your inner child as you sit back and listen to stories of the most prolific Indian deities and understand more about their meaning and influence. Learn more about mantras and mudras (5 elements, physical benefits, seals and gestures) that you can integrate into to your own practice and share with the children in your classes.

This workshop will leave you with a detailed handout, a full belly, a smile on our cheeks, other surprise goodies and 6hrs Yoga Alliance CPD. Join us in this safe and welcoming space for a fun day of singing, sharing, storytelling.

A poetic offering on letting go


As we move into this time of year … some of us will be celebrating the winter equinox and some of us the summer, some will celebrate Christmas and others won’t, some of us will be with families and some of us will be alone. Some will feel high and some will feel low. These beautiful words are relevant to us all.


She Let Go

She let go.
She let go. Without a thought or a word, she let go.
She let go of the fear.
She let go of the judgments.
She let go of the confluence of opinions swarming around her head.
She let go of the committee of indecision within her.
She let go of all the ‘right’ reasons.
Wholly and completely, without hesitation or worry, she just let go.
She didn’t ask anyone for advice.
She didn’t read a book on how to let go.
She didn’t search the scriptures.
She just let go.

She let go of all of the memories that held her back.
She let go of all of the anxiety that kept her from moving forward.
She let go of the planning and all of the calculations about how to do it just right.
She didn’t promise to let go.
She didn’t journal about it.
She didn’t write the projected date in her Day-Timer.
She made no public announcement and put no ad in the paper.
She didn’t check the weather report or read her daily horoscope.
She just let go.

She didn’t analyze whether she should let go.
She didn’t call her friends to discuss the matter.
She didn’t do a five-step Spiritual Mind Treatment.
She didn’t call the prayer line.
She didn’t utter one word.
She just let go.

No one was around when it happened.
There was no applause or congratulations.
No one thanked her or praised her.
No one noticed a thing.
Like a leaf falling from a tree, she just let go.
There was no effort.
There was no struggle.
It wasn’t good and it wasn’t bad.
It was what it was, and it is just that.
In the space of letting go, she let it all be.

A small smile came over her face.
A light breeze blew through her.
And the sun and the moon shone forevermore…


Do remember to take some time out for yourself over this festive season. Breathe deeply, rest, read, recharge and enjoy some moments to just be.
