YogaBeez also works beautifully with children who have learning difficulties or special needs. Especially beneficial for ADD, ADHD and Dispraxia, allowing the child to explore movement in a non-competative, relaxed and joyful way.

Whether children have learning difficulties, nervous conditions, physical handicaps or even illnesses such as cancer, their reaction to yoga is almost always positive. The YogaKids way is to initiate and guide a process that is innately therapeutic without tension and expectation.

Autism:

Yoga improves feelings of connection, enhances motor and communication skills and can do wonders for a child's self-esteem.

ADD & ADHD:

These children have one primary difficulty - focus. And focus is at the very heart of yoga. The combination of breathing methods and poses helps attention-deficit children develop greater body awareness, emotional balance and concentration, increasing their capacity for schoolwork and creative play. The best thing for attention-deficit children is regular practice - at least 2-3 times per week.

Cerebral Palsy:

The primary benefit of yoga for these children is the focus on breathing, stretching and realignment of the spine. This releases muscular tension and enhances overall nerve function, which gives the child more movement, co-ordination and flexibility.

Down's Syndrome:

As with any developmental disability, yogic breathing can improve the central nervous system and help develop body awareness, concentration and memory. Yoga poses stabilize joints, bolster integrity in the connective tissue and build muscle strength and tone.
